abito Celebrates Sale of Greengate Commercial Units

SKV and Out There Events Purchase Space

Abito has announced the sale of four out of its six ground floor commercial units within its eponymous scheme at Greengate, close to Manchester city centre.

Award-winning public relations agency Spinoza Kennedy Vesey PR is purchasing a 3,725 sq ft office in the scheme, which will also be home to four other growing businesses, including Out There Events.

Abito has sold four out of the six units within the scheme, which is due for completion in December, and which will house around 50 employees.

On the border of Manchester and Salford, and just 3 minutes walk from Harvey Nichols department store, the scheme features 256 multi-functional apartments over 8 floors, with the six commercial units located on the ground floor.

The Abito concept are unique intelligent living spaces – mirrored in the design of the offices, ranging in size from 1,079 sq ft to 3,725 sq ft. The 256 one bedroom apartments aimed at the young professional market over 8 floors – 200 will be identical in size at 350 sq ft with 56 larger Abito + on the site at Greengate.

Andrew Spinoza, Managing Director of Spinoza Kennedy Vesey PR said: “As a rapidly expanding company of nearly 20 staff, we needed larger premises and were attracted to the development, which has been tailored to suit our needs, because of location and design quality.

“Greengate is set to undergo radical development over the next few years and we will be at the heart of the new quarter which could become home to some of the city’s most creative and entrepreneurial companies.”

Event management company Out There Events is another of the companies who will be re-locating from their temporary offices in central Manchester to the new Abito scheme.

Managing Director Martin Mongan said the company was looking forward to re-locating and were attracted to the scheme for a number of reasons.

“We were keen to buy our own premises but there were not that many on the market for the size we required. With the Abito scheme we have a well-finished shell, which gives us the scope to design and fit out the office to meet our needs - and following a recent staff expansion we are looking to add a mezzanine level to the original open plan design.”

Les Lang, Managing Director of Abito said: “The scheme not only appeals to residential purchasers, but commercial buyers too. Many companies are now looking to buy their own office space, as opposed to rent – and our space is fully fitted out, intelligently designed and affordably priced, just like the apartments located above.

“We were adamant that filling the commercial space was a priority rather than an after-thought. We did not want our residents to be subjected to empty boarded-up units and we were keen that they should know in advance what kind of businesses will be part of their building.”

There is only one remaining commercial unit, which has the capacity to be divided into two separate offices – and fewer than 50 residential apartments left for sale in the scheme.
