Work Starts on Second Abito Development in Greater Manchester
Following the success of its Greengate scheme in Salford, the award-winning Abito has started work on its next scheme at Clippers Quay, Salford Quays.
The 290 multi-functional quayside Abito apartments, eight of which will be Abito Duos – two bedroom apartments with roof terraces - are based on the same ingenious principal of the intelligent, compact living spaces at Greengate.
Already, 190 apartments have been reserved, many by those who expressed interest or who have also bought at Greengate.
The latest Abito apartments at Salford Quays will be just as cleverly designed, by architects Building Design Partnership (BDP) but with additional and improved features to both individual apartments including a larger bathroom with bath, and internal and external features such as seating in the internal courtyard.
The apartments are once again aimed at first time buyers and young professionals, with prices starting from £107,000 for the standard apartment.
Each will still be fitted with a special full sized, fold-away bed and the central ‘pod’, which includes a bathroom, washer/dryer and a compact kitchen, allowing for a clutter-free lifestyle. Space above the pod can also be used as an extra bed-deck.
All apartments have their own balcony, which are designed to allow residents as much or as little privacy as they require.
The Abito Duos will have double the standard 356 sq ft space with two bedrooms, a lounge and kitchen area and separate bathroom. Duos also come with an amazing 600 sq ft roof terrace, complete with its own bespoke-designed canopy to protect from the elements.
Close to the heart of Salford Quays and with views across to Old Trafford football ground, Clippers Quay has excellent transport links, with Pomona Metrolink stop only two minutes walk away and within five minutes drive to the M602/M60 motorway network.
The scheme has now been released for sale and is expected to be completed in Autumn 2008. A marketing suite which highlights the Abito concept is now open at the Greengate development and provides sales information for both schemes.
Les Lang, Managing Director of Abito said: “We are delighted to begin working on our second Abito scheme. With its scenic waterside setting, great transport links and thriving arts and leisure facilities, Salford Quays is fast becoming one of the most vibrant and sought-after locations in Greater Manchester.
“Following the Greengate scheme, we have learned a great deal about the demographics of our buyers and will be adapting the development to suit their needs as well as create a stunning, well-thought out, innovative product aimed at owner-occupiers and first time buyers that suits both their needs and their pocket.” www.abito.co.uk
